If you would like to apply to become a volunteer, please fill out an application, and arrange an orientation meeting with Debbie at 506-458-9482 or email info@frederictonmealsonwheels.ca.

To be a volunteer delivery driver, you must have:

  • a reliable vehicle
  • a valid drivers license
  • proof of insurance

For those living in the city, we will give you a letter requesting a Criminal Record Check through the City of Fredericton Police Force, and those living outside of the city can contact the RCMP at anytime for a Criminal Record Check.

Given the vulnerability of some of our clients and because drivers go into clients homes, Meals on Wheels volunteers are required to pass a Vulnerable Sector Check with the Department of Social Development.

Drivers use their own vehicles to deliver meals and are asked to keep a log of their mileage in order to receive an income tax receipt at the end of the year.
