Peace of mind for yourself and your family.
Currently, meal deliveries are made 365 days of the year in Fredericton, Hanwell, and New Maryland. We also offer frozen meals to outside Fredericton areas (Harvey and Queens County). The essential task of getting the meals from the kitchens to those who need them is carried out exclusively by volunteers. Over 250 dedicated volunteers deliver on average 250-300 meals per day, 7,793 meals per month – serving 95,921 meals last year!

A strict organizational standard of Meals on Wheels is that our meals must be freshly prepared, balanced and nutritious. Our meals are prepared by the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital and at our own Meals on Wheels kitchen. These two well equipped facilities enable us to accommodate most diet restrictions, including allergies, diabetic diets and various food intolerances.
Our drivers come to know the people on their routes, and so in addition to providing nutrition to sustain the client’s health and independence, a meal delivery by a Meals on Wheels volunteer also serves as a daily safety check and a source of social contact for many clients.
Perhaps there are people in your life who would appreciate a break from meal preparation. Or reach out to someone you are thinking about; in a time of need, to say Get Well Soon, Happy Mothers Day, Happy Fathers Day, Happy Any Day. Gift certificates are available for purchase and can be redeemed for our home delivery program, Meals on Wheels or for the dine-out program, Wheels to Meals.
Wheels to Meals
Update: We are delighted to announce the relaunch of our Wheels to Meals program, featuring monthly luncheons from now until May 2024. Join us for these special gatherings filled with delicious food and great company. As summer approaches, we’ll take a break and plan to resume our weekly meals in the fall 2024. Stay tuned for more details!
The Wheels to Meals Senior Dine-out luncheon program has been operating since 2000. Every Tuesday from September to May, approximately 50 seniors dine and engage in conversation, enjoying memorable tunes preformed by one of the many volunteer entertainment groups. Many dedicated volunteers run this program including drivers who pick up clients, returning them safely to their homes after the program, and others who help serve the meals and clean up the hall. Transportation to the Wheels to Meals luncheon is available for those who may need it and live within city limits.
