St. James Presbyterian Church is working with Meals on Wheels of Fredericton Inc. to offer a pilot home delivery program in Hanwell starting September 2016. Meals will be delivered on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Another goal is to begin offering the Wheels to Meals Dine-out Senior’s luncheon at St. James Presbyterian Church this fall.
In the meantime, please spread the word to Hanwell residents you think might be interested in learning more about this service, as well as individuals that might like to volunteer. As it is a pilot (and we are working within food depot capacity levels), only a limited number of deliveries are available to begin with. Our initial goal is ten, but there is some flexibility and hopes to grow as the program is able. For the home delivery program we are looking for approximately 10 volunteers and later we will also need drivers and hall volunteers for the dine-out luncheon.
Feel free to email Wendy MacWilliams at firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions or expressions of interest in learning more (it will also help us with planning of the event itself). If you know of individuals who might want to be contacted, please let us know.
